Winter Carnival

Join friends and winter lovers for an afternoon of fun in the snow!

This Event is FREE!

  • Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride – Belgian Draft Horses will take you on a scenic trail. There will be a sign up for ride times the day of the event.
  • Meet & Greet with Sled Dogs – The Door County Sled Dogs team is comprised of all rescued dogs whose mission is education and fun – for children, adults, and families year-round. Join them for a meet and greet from 2:30pm – 4:00pm.
  • Ice Cano Hikes – Hike down to Lake Michigan to observe the Ice Cano formations at 12:15pm, 1:15pm, 2:15pm and 3:15pm. (Hikes start in the Great Hall)
  • Tracks and Traces Hikes – Join a Center naturalist as we hike the trails looking for animal tracks and traces they leave behind at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm (Hikes start in the Great Hall)
  • Live Owl Raptor Program – Learn about special adaptations of owls, their territories, and conservation efforts. In the Center’s Auditorium from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
  • Fox and Branch – A Fox and Branch family show is all about audience participation. Kids get to sing, clap, and dance and play rhythm instruments. Adults get to enjoy the music, clap and sing along too! In the Center’s Auditorium from 3:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Snowshoeing
  • Ice Skating on Mystery Lake - Weather permitted (skates not provided)
  • Sledding
  • Live Animals – Meet and Greet some of our live animal educators
  • Indoor Preschool Playspace
  • Sisters inspired by the movie Frozen
  • Cookie Decorating
  • S’mores
  • Food Truck: Gouda Girls
