Bird Club: Reducing Window Collisions

Join a welcoming community of bird enthusiasts on the second Wednesday of the month. Anyone aged 14 and older who is interested in learning more about birds is welcome, regardless of prior experience. You will learn and enhance identification skills from experienced birders.
This Birding Academy program is hosted by Schlitz Audubon Environmental Educator Laine Cotteleer and co-hosted by Dan Panetti, former owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Mequon. This month, we are joined by Samantha Humes, a Wisconsin Master Naturalist and volunteer. She will present on the science behind window collisions and how community members can prevent them.
Schlitz Audubon’s clubs provide an entry point into a welcoming community of fellow learners and enthusiasts of varying ages and experience levels. Free to all and beginner-friendly, each thematic club meets regularly, with specific topics rotating through the seasons—there’s always something new to discover! Throughout the year, meetings feature local experts and skilled volunteers, each bringing their unique knowledge and perspectives on relevant subjects.
We will meet inside the Visitor Center building and this program will take place entirely indoors.
Free to all. Registration is required. Optional donation supports habitat preservation at the Center.
