The Nature Store and Birding Resource Center, conveniently located in the Great Hall of our Visitor Center, offer goods curated for nature lovers of all ages. Plus, members receive 10% off most items! If you’re visiting the Center just to shop, our admission fee does not apply – just let our booth staff know, and you’ll be good to go.  

The Nature Store 

Whether you’re shopping for thoughtful gifts or a little something for yourself, our Nature Store shelves are filled with nature-themed treasures to fit an array of interests, curiosities, and needs. Inspired by the rhythms of the ecosystems around us, our offerings change with the seasons, so there’s always something new to discover! Many items are sourced from small and local businesses, so your purchase not only supports our conservation-driven mission, but also our broader community. 

Available items range from educational to pure fun, and everything in between! Featured themes include different flora and fauna, Great Lakes and Wisconsin wildlife, geology, astronomy, and so much more. Need to fuel up before or after your hike? Grab flavorful, nutritious snacks from Outpost Natural Foods Co-op or cool off with a Pete’s Pop. 

As you browse, you’ll find a wide selection of cards and books, puzzles and games, and art supplies to spark inspiration. Our self-care and home collections feature soaps, lotions, candles, and a variety of practical and decorative goods, including pottery, carved wooden décor, and drinkware. We also offer stylish accessories like totes, purses, and handcrafted jewelry, plus logo apparel, plush toys, stickers, pins, and unique garden items— there’s something for everyone!  

The Birding Resource Center 

The Birding Resource Center serves as a learning hub for both individual enthusiasts and our broader birding community. It provides high-quality and well-researched tools in addition to on-site guidance from expert staff. Our collection includes Vortex binoculars and monoculars, a wide range of regional and habitat-specific field guides, and field notebooks and journals in various sizes and formats. You will also find bird-themed books for all ages along with practical outdoor gear such as sun hats and knit beanies, bags, water bottles, and more.
