Vibrant Veranda Ceremony

James and Jak’s vibrant summer wedding ceremony took place on our covered outdoor Veranda! Ceremonies on the Veranda highlight the environment, allow for fresh air and feature a backdrop of verdant scenery, while sheltering guests from any potential rain. This couple tied in their love of nature through small details like clothing accessories and décor to exploring outdoor photo locations to their symbolic ceremony.

After getting ready in our onsite dressing rooms, the couple took advantage of the acres of natural landscape and rode our golf carts down to the shore of Lake Michigan for some beachfront photos.

The focal point of the Veranda was a breathtaking circular arch made up of lush ferns. Café string lights hung along the roof, providing an enchanting glow, and the couple incorporated a symbolic Burr Oak tree ceremony after exchanging vows. During cocktail hour, the bar offered an Aperol spritz specialty cocktail while guests took part in a unique experience with the Raptors of Schlitz Audubon! Inside, the Great Hall was lit up with additional café string lights and up-Lights illuminated the tree pillars. Tables were dressed in green linens and held tree slice centerpieces topped with terrariums and contrasting florals. There was a champagne toast honoring the newlyweds, followed by a vegan buffet in the auditorium. For dessert, the couple had a showstopping armadillo-shaped cake (IYKYK), and the night concluded with a special guest performance and lots of dancing!
