Picturesque Traditional Wedding

Mari and Nick’s summer wedding at Schlitz Audubon started in our two private dressing rooms. After getting ready and having a first look on the Ravine Deck, their marriage began with a picturesque ceremony at our Pavilion. Overlooking Lake Michigan, the Pavilion’s limestone courtyard creates a small sanctuary surrounded by trees in the woods. We can accommodate any traditions you hope to include in your special day. The couple rented two of our rustic wine barrels to mark either side of the aisle and topped them with beautiful blush floral arrangements. A chuppah draped with flowers and greenery stood at the east end of the courtyard, and live vocals and guitar filled the area with beautiful music.

After the ceremony, guests were welcomed with a one-of-a-kind meet and greet with the Raptors of Schlitz Audubon and enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on our covered outdoor Veranda, followed by dinner inside our two-story beamed Great Hall. Our café string lights and up-lights illuminated the dining area and dance floor, giving off a warm glow. Tables showcased khaki-colored napkins, candles, and rosy florals. Dinner kicked off with a champagne toast to celebrate the newlyweds and included a wine pour with wines selected to complement their dinner. The couple sliced a chocolate cake and had different flavors of pie for dessert. The dance floor opened with the hora, a traditional circle dance, and the festivities continued throughout the night!

Summer weddings stay cool along our Lake Michigan shoreline, and the grounds offer many locations to capture the true beauty of your day and the season. Two spots our couples favor include the beachfront and Mystery Lake, both visited by Mari and Nick as the perfect backdrop for their special day!
