Jewel Toned Courtyard Ceremony
Fall is a gorgeous time to host weddings at Schlitz Audubon. Katie and Ryan held their ceremony at the Pavilion Courtyard facing east, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery of autumn leaves with views of Lake Michigan through the trees. They each got ready in the Center’s private dressing rooms, taking time to refresh before tying the knot. Jewel toned florals made up the bride’s bouquet, while the groom’s boutonnière featured hand-crafted wooden feathers made by his soon-to-be father-in-law.
The couple rented our fallen ash arch and wine barrels to use as aisle markers. Pumpkins and gourds were placed around the barrels, enhancing the autumnal vibe. They decorated the arch with rich colored flowers and feathers, paying homage to our beloved Raptor Program, who later made an appearance at cocktail hour! Guests mingled with drinks in hand during the Raptor Meet and Greet, saying hello and taking photos with owls, kestrels and eagles before heading into the Great Hall for dinner and dancing the night away!
