Introduction to Bird Language
Saturdays, March 7 & March 14 | 9:00am – 11:30am
Spring brings an abundance of bird activity to the Center with winter birds departing and summer residents returning. They fill the skies, forests, and fields and with so many species singing, it can be tricky to tell them apart.
In this two-part certificate program, dive into the world of bird language and begin to decipher the calls and songs of our common bird species. Explore new ways to study and memorize the sounds that birds make, as well as the behavior that drives them to vocalize.
Saturday, March 7: How to Study Bird Language and Behaviors | Guided Sit Spot at Feeder Grove
Saturday, March 14: Common Spring Calls and Songs | Guided Hike through the Central Wetlands Loop
Your instructors are Environmental Educators Aubrey Fulsaas and Laine Cotteleer, who are both certified Wisconsin Master Naturalists and experienced birders.
