Uncovering Bird Behavior
Saturdays, January 17 & January 24 | 12:00pm – 2:00pm
This two-part certificate program will explore how natural selection and ecological pressure shape the instincts of birds living in Wisconsin. Go beyond simple bird identification and discover why birds behave in certain ways to survive, reproduce, and compete in their habitats. Through a combination of interactive lectures, curated handouts, and guided hikes, this course will examine the concepts of competition, foraging, predator defense, sexual selection, parental care, and more. Participants will come to better understand the complex relationships among our common birds, both resident and migratory.
