$17.00 – $23.00
Learn about lunar eclipses and how to best observe them. On this day, there will be a lunar eclipse beginning at 9:33pm, with its peak reaching 93% totality at 11:12pm.
During an indoor presentation, participants will discover why lunar eclipses occur, and the mechanics behind this astronomical phenomenon. Afterwards, we will take a short hike to the tower to watch the sunset and learn the best direction for viewing the lunar eclipse at home.
Kathy Brehmer will be presenting the wonders and science behind eclipses. She has taught astronomy classes at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center and for UWM’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
