Tagging Migrating Monarchs
Citizen Science, Families, Guided Hikes
RAIN DATE: Sunday, August 30 | 1:00p-2:30p
As cooler weather arrives, monarch butterflies start flying toward warmer temperatures. Join Environmental Educator Melanie Ziolecki to learn their life cycle and how we monitor the monarch butterfly’s journey to Mexico. We’ll visit several monarch hotspots on our property to potentially catch and tag their wings for the Monarch Watch Citizen Science Project. We’ll conclude by discussing how we can support monarch migration through conservation actions.
This program is designed for all ages, children and adults alike. Children must be accompanied by an adult; each child and adult require a ticket. This program will take place indoors and outdoors.
