Raptor Behind-the-Scenes Workshop

In this highly sought-after experience, participants spend a day with our celebrity owls, hawks, eagles and more at our private Raptor Building. Lindsay Focht, Raptor & Animal Ambassador Director, introduces you to each raptor while we discuss the daily management of the birds, build enrichment for them, and learn what it takes to care for these magnificent animals. You will have the opportunity to closely interact with our star birds: a truly exhilarating experience! Come prepared to get dirty and be amazed!

Lindsay Focht graduated in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Natural Sciences, majoring in Wildlife Ecology. For 4 years, she trained birds for free flight shows at various zoos and venues across the country. Lindsay specializes in avian training, captive wildlife management, and environmental education. She has been with the Center for 14 years and is passionate about creating memorable experiences for the public and sparking excitement and care for the natural world.

For this program, wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and close-toed shoes. Bring your own bag lunch and the Center will provide beverages.

This program will take place outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, a portion of the program will be indoors.
