Conservation Hike: Stormwater
Conservation, Adults, Guided Hikes
Learn how staff and volunteers care for the land by observing current and past initiatives, focusing on stormwater management to prevent erosion and flooding, protect habitat, and improve water quality. You will get a sneak peek at upcoming stormwater management projects and gain overall insight into the Center’s future conservation plans. During the program we will also discuss how the property’s history still affects the land today, and everything it takes to restore and protect it.
This hike is led by our Director of Conservation & Land Management, Drew Shuster. He has been working on the land at Schlitz Audubon for over 10 years, including working on the Stormwater Wetland & Ravine Restoration Project as well as leading the Bluff Pavilion Courtyard & Gardens project.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be rescheduled to Saturday, October 24 at the same time.
Members: $17 | Non-members: $23
