Sand Dunes of Kohler Andrae
One of the last natural preserves along Lake Michigan, Kohler-Andrae State Park is the home of majestic sand dunes, miles of golden beach, whispering pines, and an abundance of wildlife. An extensive wooden cordwalk (a boardwalk connected by cords) with overlooks at several points provides hiking opportunities through this sensitive ecosystem. Explore this unique environment, learning about the adaptations of the life forms that live with the dryness and wind of this habitat, and about dune ecology.
