Lake Michigan
Water is the liquid of life, and Lake Michigan is one of the largest sources of fresh water on the planet! From our 60-foot tower, where miles of the lake are visible, students grasp the vastness of Lake Michigan’s dimensions. At the beach, students investigate threats to Lake Michigan’s health by analyzing refuse on the shore and testing for contaminate levels, water temperature, and pH. Through these activities, students learn what causes pollution in Lake Michigan and what we can do to care for the lake. Students leave with a greater appreciation for our Great Lake.
