Guided Bird Hike: Spring Migrants
Adults, Birding Academy, Guided Hikes
During this guided hike, Environmental Educator Laine Cotteleer will help you spot the spring migrants filling Wisconsin’s skies with music and color! We will focus on identification characteristics such as color, size, pattern, behavior, song, and nest style. You will also learn strategies for more closely observing and listening to birds without disturbing them.
This interactive field experience will help you build your skillset and provides an opportunity to ask questions. This program is ideal for those new to birding and experienced birders interested in learning about the birds found on our grounds. Bring your binoculars or camera as well as your favorite field guide or app. We will meet in the Great Hall before beginning our hike.
Laine Cotteleer has been an Environmental Educator for three years and loves to share her passion for Wisconsin’s native flora and fauna with people of all ages. She is a lifelong birder and continues to hone her craft and skill with each program she teaches.
