Guided Bird Hike: Christmas Bird Count at Schlitz Audubon
Adults, Birding Academy, Citizen Science, Free with Membership, Guided Hikes
Saturday, December 19 | 8:00a-10:00a
This holiday season, join Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in the National Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count. Come participate in the longest running community science birding project through a free guided hike along our Lake Terrace Loop! The Christmas Bird Count exists to promote bird conservation through observing wild birds and counting them in their native habitats.
This hike is led by expert birder and Schlitz Audubon staff member Zoe Finney, who has been the Milwaukee Christmas Bird Count compiler since 2018. She will be joined by our Wisconsin Master Naturalist volunteers who have led bird hikes around the Center.
This hike will take place entirely outdoors. The Lake Terrace Trail is at the bottom of a steep bluff, so wear appropriate, anti-slip footwear. We will meet in front of the building.
Free to all. Registration required. Optional donation supports habitat preservation at the Center.
