Wisconsin’s Winter Finches
Adults, Birding Academy, Guided Hikes
Finches are colorful and cheerful birds that bring joy to our homes and trails all year long. Join Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in learning about the many species that call Wisconsin their home, from the American Goldfinch to the Common Redpoll!
Environmental Educator Laine Cotteleer will begin this seminar with a presentation on identifying Wisconsin’s winter finches, discussing different species and the adaptations that help them thrive. Then, we’ll check our Feeder Grove observation area for any finch activity before hitting the trails to observe them in their native habitat!
Laine Cotteleer has been an Environmental Educator for over three years and loves to share her passion for Wisconsin’s native flora and fauna with people of all ages. She is a lifelong birder, and continues to hone her craft and skill with each program she teaches.
