Shrubs and Woody Plants Identification Workshop
Saturday, May 17, 2025 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
$23.00 – $34.00Adults, Guided Hikes, Wheelchair Accessible
Discover the undergrowth species of forests through plant identification and learn how it helps us determine ecosystem health. Through an interactive presentation, learning guide, and field experience, you will be able to identify at least 15 different shrubs and woody plants. This includes both native species and invasive species that tend to dominate forest habitats. After this workshop, you will be able to confidently identify the shrubs and woody plants in your own backyard or neighborhood, and help improve the health of your local ecosystem.
Leading the workshop is Environmental Educator Jim Thielke. With a degree in biology, he focused his studies on plants and fungi. At the Center, he has taught many programs about plants, including the Tree Identification Workshops.
This program will take place both indoors and outdoors.
