Guided Bird Hike: Fall Migration

Sunday, September 13, 2026 | 8:00 am - 9:30 am
$17.00 – $23.00

,

Autumn is almost here, and the journey south for our feathered friends has begun. We’ll climb to the top of our 60-foot observation tower, then hike through mixed woods in search of early fall migrants.

This field experience is ideal for beginning and seasoned birders alike. Build your skillset by learning how to locate and identify birds from our trails; we will focus on identification characteristics such as size, shape, color, pattern, behavior, song, and habitat preference. There will also be plenty of time to practice looking and listening for birds to get a better view without disturbing them.

This outdoor hike is led by Environmental Educator and experienced birder Laine Cotteleer. Laine is an instructor of the Birding Academy and a lifelong birder who continues to hone her craft and skill with each program she teaches.

Bring your binoculars, favorite field guide or app, and we will meet in the Great Hall. This program will take place entirely outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, a portion of the program will take place indoors.
