Wednesday, July 23, 2025 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
$50.00 – $65.00Adults, Field Trips, Guided Hikes
Enjoy a day of hiking through nature in the historic Bay View neighborhood at two wonderful locations: Humboldt and South Shore parks. Humboldt Park showcases several excellent habitats and grand trees over its 73 acres. It also features several ponds, easy walking trails, and a war memorial. After lunch at the picnic grounds, we will head to the scenic lakefront of South Shore Park. This popular destination is a vibrant part of the community, and its beautiful beach is often the stopping area for various waterfowl and other birds. You’re sure to enjoy the picturesque views of Lake Michigan! We will also visit the south-end lookout site called Texas Rock.
Your guides will be Director of Education Tom Finley and Environmental Educator Michelle Allison, who also happens to be a Bay View native. Bring your walking shoes and a pair of binoculars if you have them. Registered participants will receive further details and directions via email the week before the trip.
This field trip is not wheelchair accessible.
Schlitz Audubon will donate a portion of your registration fee to the Humboldt Park Friends and the Friends of South Shore Park.
