Birding Academy, Families, Field Trips, Guided Hikes
RAIN DATE: September 27 | 10:00a-2:00p
Join us for a family-friendly outing to the Lake Mills Wildlife Area where we will witness Sandhill Cranes gathering! Their young ones have grown big and they’re flocking in preparation for their trip south for the winter. While exploring the trails, we will pause at various locations to read excerpts from the book Sandhill Crane Siblings Learn to Find Food by University of Wisconsin professor, Joy Zedler. This field adventure is led by Environmental Educators and Birding Academy Instructors Laine Cotteleer and Aubrey Fulsas.
The field adventure begins at the Lake Mills Wildlife Area and ends at Korth Park. Registered participants will receive further details and directions via email the week before the trip. This field adventure is not wheelchair accessible. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be rescheduled to Sunday, September 27th at the same time.
The maximum number per family group is 5. This program is designed for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult.
Members: $50 per group| Non-members: $70 per group
