Winter Wanderings
How do deer survive the Wisconsin winter? What about a red fox? Why does the Canada Goose fly south? Students learn about animal adaptations through a short and interactive indoor play performed by Center Naturalists. In this play, students watch a confused news reporter interview various animals native to Wisconsin. Afterward, we explore Schlitz Audubon’s forests, prairies, and ponds. Here students discover signs of active animals and learn about other survival strategies such as migration, dormancy, and hibernation. Through this program, students develop an appreciation for the season and its many wonders.
