Wild About Weather
Students discover the ways plants, animals, and people adapt to changing weather and climate conditions. They also study the water cycle, discover how clouds form, incorporate geography, and uncover facts about the major source of energy – the sun. Since winter can be especially challenging for animal life, we highlight the ways that animals adapt and survive even the toughest of climates. Strategies include building up fat reserves, decreasing activity, increasing food intake, hibernation and also migration. We learn how common local animals employ these methods.
