Green Machine: Spring Plants
Green plants are emerging all around from the soil. By investigating their green parts, students learn about photosynthesis – what goes into the plant and what the plant makes for itself and us. Students discover how plants work with the sun to produce energy and oxygen on our planet. Then we host a “plant parts picnic” where we’ll learn about each important feature of plants – roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruit, and seeds. We examine the function of each part and recognize our close relationship with plants, by eating them!
