Ecology Along the Ice Age Trail
This trip showcases Wisconsin’s rich heritage of natural resource preservation and education, covering more than one mile of the beautiful Ice Age trail outside of Eagle. We begin at the Visitor’s Center to learn about the geologic forces that shaped the region. We’ll also discuss the area’s human settlement, beginning with American Indians through European settlers to modern-day farmers and sportsmen. On our hike, we will explore a variety of habitats full of bio-diversity, from forest and prairie to field and stream. Winter months highlight glacial features and animal signs.
