We’re excited you are considering Schlitz Audubon Nature School for your child. Below is more information about class offerings and the enrollment process.  

Application Process 

We are excited you are considering Schlitz Audubon Nature School for your child!s

There are no current openings for the 2025/2026 school year. The application process for the 2026/2027 school year will open in mid-November 2025.

Applications are accepted regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, political affiliation, and national origin. 

Every attempt is made to place children in their preferred class; however, we reserve the right to create optimal learning communities by balancing classes according to gender and age.

2025/2026 Class Offerings 

Our school year begins Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and ends Friday, May 29, 2026. We require commitment to the entire school year. The Nature School closes for major holidays, winter break, spring break, and quarterly staff development days. 

Each class has a maximum of 16 students with a child/adult ratio of 8:1 with two teachers per class. 

NATURE PRESCHOOL 

Nature Preschool classes focus on play-based nature experiences and social/emotional learning. Classes are part-day, mixed-age classes composed of children three to five-years-old. Nature Preschool children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2025, to enroll. Children must also be bathroom proficient and independent (potty trained). 

Two Days per Week Options 

  • Tuesday/Thursday mornings: 8:45 am – 11:30 am 
  • Tuesday/Thursday mornings: 9:00 am – 11:45 am 
  • Monday/Wednesday afternoons: 12:30 pm – 3:15 pm 
  • Tuesday/Thursday afternoons: 12:30 pm – 3:15pm

Three Days per Week Options 

  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings: 8:45 am – 11:30 am 
  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings: 9:00 am – 11:45 am 
  • Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday mornings: 8:45 am – 11:30 am 
  • Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday afternoons: 12:45 pm – 3:30 pm 

NATURE K4  

Nature K4 classes build upon the play-based nature experiences and social emotional learning of Nature Preschool with deep exploration into various topics through inquiry-based approaches.  Nature K4 classes are composed of children four to five-years-old. Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2025 

  • Monday through Thursday afternoons: 12:45 pm – 3:30 pm 

NATURE K4/K5 Hybrid 

Our Nature K4/K5 Hybrid class builds upon our Nature Preschool classes with deeper exploration into a nature-based approach to emergent literacy, math, and science.  Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2025 

  • Monday through Thursday mornings 9:00 am – 11:45 pm 

Tuition Rates for the 2025/2026 School Year 

  • Two half-days per week programs: $ 3,412 
  • Three half-days per week programs: $4714 
  • Four half-days per week programs: $5527 

We offer two tuition payment options: by school year, or by month. 

Each family enrolled in the Nature School will receive an annual family membership to the Center. Membership will be added when you make your first tuition payment in early August. (You will either receive new membership or if you are already a member, a year will be added to your renewal.)
