Our high school programs are ideal for reinforcing key topics in environmental education or any natural science class.  Students can visit Schlitz Audubon for onsite programming or can travel to state natural areas with one of our naturalists as their guide; the natural beauty of Wisconsin will also act as a teaching tool on topics such as geology, succession, and biodiversity.

Programs at Schlitz Audubon

Our field trips are an incredible way for students to see the very best of what Schlitz Audubon Nature Center has to offer. Your class starts the day with an introductory discussion as a large group and then splits into smaller groups led by Naturalist educators for a more hands-on experience. These smaller groups then take to the trails, exploring the wide variety of diverse Wisconsin habitats including ponds, prairies, forests, and Great Lake Michigan shoreline that Schlitz Audubon has to offer. Teachers receive pre- and post-trip materials for each program, ensuring that your knowledge from Schlitz Audubon extends beyond our time together.

Offsite Programs

In addition to programming at Schlitz Audubon, we can join you at your school or at a Wisconsin natural area. Hour-long interactive programs are offered for a variety of natural history topics such as plants, insects, reptiles & amphibians, plus our amazing raptor presentations. Older students can experience some of the wonders of our local state natural areas through day-long trips with our Naturalists. Through artifacts, discussions and activities these programs are perfect to introduce or reinforce the most vital aspects of your core learning areas.

Accessibility and Special Needs

We welcome students of all abilities and strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from nature. Our Naturalists will work with you to meet the needs of students or teachers. In addition, many of the trails at the Center are wheelchair accessible to ensure access for anyone with mobility challenges.

Scholarship Funds

Through the generosity of donors, Schlitz Audubon is able to offer scholarship funding to help students have the opportunity to connect with nature. Scholarships are available to eligible schools for both onsite and offsite programming. Please contact our Registrar at registration@schlitzaudubon.org for details.

Our school programs are both educational and engaging!
