Explore basic watercolor painting in this two-day workshop. Created for beginning and intermediate level painters looking for time with other bird, wildlife, and nature enthusiasts. This workshop introduces simple techniques while exploring elements of nature and wildlife found at the Center. Participants progress at their own pace with instructor guidance, typically completing one to two projects.
Instructor José Acevedo uses art to explore the natural world, and finds inspiration in the birds, fish, and wildlife of the Midwest. His watercolor paintings use a combination of transparent watercolor paints and inks. Acevedo is also a self-taught wood carver. His hand-painted wood carvings of native Wisconsin birds, fish, and wildlife are featured at local businesses, including Schlitz Audubon and Boerner Botanical Gardens.
This program will take place entirely indoors. This program does not include materials. A supply list will be sent to all participants after registration. Please bring a bag lunch.
