Solar Eclipse Viewing

Monday, April 8, 2024 | 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

, ,

The Great American Eclipse will offer a rare opportunity for viewers to witness a total eclipse of the sun, which happens when the new moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun. This extraordinary eclipse will cross the entirety of the United States and at its peak, the totality in Wisconsin should reach 90%.

We’ll have a telescope fitted with a solar filter, as well as a limited number of special glasses with which to safely view this incredible event. (Remember to never look directly at the sun). Our hosts will project the sun through the solar scope onto poster board. Naturalists will be on hand to assist viewers and answer your questions. Don’t miss out as the next closest total solar eclipse will be in 20 years!

This is a drop-in event that will take place on our Vernada.

Free with membership or admission.
