Plants and their Dyes Workshop
Sunday, July 13, 2025 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
$45.00 – $60.00Plants of all kinds have been used as dye for thousands of years. In this workshop, we will start with a hike to learn about the local plants that are found in Wisconsin and the various colors that can be extracted from them. Following the hike, you will learn how to calculate the amount of mordant to use and the amount of plant matter needed to bring out the strong colors. Then, everyone will practice the process of dyeing wool and cotton fibers.
This workshop will be led by Environmental Educator Cassie Rincon, who has been working alongside Rose Boulder Farm staff for years learning the natural ways of creating beautiful fiber art.
This program will take place both indoors and outdoors. All dyeing materials will be provided.
Members: $45 | Non-members: $60
