Nature School Art Studio: Just Add Water
Explore the natural world through art! Children can explore, experiment, and take artistic risks to discover their own individual approach to artmaking.
Water is the common ingredient in all our creative endeavors this month. Water changes pigments and materials in wonderous ways, from creating subtle colors to bubble painting and resist processes. We will take inspiration from the water-loving creatures in the ponds as subject matter for our creations.
This program is hosted by the Nature School’s Artist in Residence, Abbey Finn. This series of programs offers Process Art experiences, which allow children to focus on the process of making art, rather than the finished product. It’s an open-ended, unstructured, and self-motivated way for children to explore materials, techniques, and self-expression.
The Gardens Outdoor Classroom will serve as our Art Studio with various stations for exploration of materials and processes. This is a drop-off program designed for children ages 4-6. Tickets are non-transferable.
Members: $25 per child | Non-members: $32 per child
