Nature School Art Studio: Art in Motion
Art, Early Childhood, Preschool
Explore the natural world through art! Children can explore, experiment, and take artistic risks to discover their own individual approach to artmaking. Often we think of art as just standing still, but in this class, we will experiment with making kinetic art projects that sway, spin, and swirl. We will use materials from nature such as sticks and tree cookies and combine them with paint, string, and beading to create unique pieces of art that explore movement.
This program is hosted by the Nature School’s Artist in Residence, Abbey Finn. This series of programs offers Process Art experiences, which allow children to focus on the process of making art, rather than the finished product. It’s an open-ended, unstructured, and self-motivated way for children to explore materials, techniques, and self-expression.
The Gardens Outdoor Classroom will serve as our Art Studio with various stations for exploration of materials and processes. This is a drop-off program designed for children ages 4-6. Tickets are non-transferable.
Members: $25 per child | Non-members: $32 per child
