Literary Hike: The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben

Sunday, July 10, 2022 | 9:00 am - 10:30 am

$15.00 – $20.00

,

This guided hike will follow the pages of The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. In his book, Wohlleben makes the case that a forest is a social network, drawing on groundbreaking scientific discoveries to describe how trees are like human families: tree parents live together with their children, communicate with them, support them as they grow, share nutrients with those who are sick or struggling, and even warn each other of impending dangers.

Participants will listen to select passages while experiencing the natural phenomenon being described as they explore Schlitz Audubon through the words of Wohlleben. Copies of the book are available in our Nature Store to purchase but are not required.

This program will take place entirely outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.

Members: $15 | Non-members: $20
