Fall Mushroom ID Workshop
Dive into the fascinating world of fall fungi! This workshop will explore the important role mushrooms play in our ecosystems. Starting with an indoor presentation, you will gain new insights into the life cycle, reproduction, and habitat range of the species we can find right here in Wisconsin. Afterwards, we’ll hit the trails to identify the Center’s resident mushrooms and examine some specimens under a microscope.
This workshop is led by Environmental Educators Jim Thielke and Melanie Ziolecki. Jim has a degree in Plant and Fungal Biology, taking a special interest in trees, lichen, moss, and mushrooms. Melanie has a degree in Ecology and has taught previous Mushroom ID workshops at Schlitz Audubon. They both enjoy expanding their knowledge to learn about the decomposers that shape our world and sharing their unique qualities with hands on opportunities.
This workshop will take place both indoors and outdoors.
Members: $24 | Non-members: $34
