Guided Bird Hike: Fall Migration at Schlitz Audubon

Sunday, October 5, 2025 | 8:00 am - 9:30 am
$18.00 – $24.00

October is a special time to be a birder in Wisconsin. One of nature’s greatest migrations is taking place as millions of neotropical songbirds make their way back to their warmer wintering grounds from their breeding territories across North America and Canada. October is the tail end of this great migration. Typically, the last round of migrants such as Yellow-rumped Warblers, sparrows, raptors, kinglets, ducks and waterbirds are on the move in large numbers.

Over 260 species have been recorded on our grounds with many seen only during the migration windows. We will cover bird identification by color, pattern, behavior, and habitat preference.

Your guide is Environmental Educator Michelle Allison, and experienced birder for many years at the Center. Bring your binoculars, field guide or camera.
