Evening Hike: Lake Michigan
We will start our journey to the lake as the shadows lengthen, pausing along the way to enjoy the nature around us. Our first stop will be the tower, where we will take in the beautiful view of the lake from up high. After, we’ll descend the bluff and discuss how the land around Lake Michigan has changed over its history. Once we reach the beach, we will discuss the lake’s ecological importance as we stroll its shores.
Your guide for this evening will be Environmental Educator Jim Thielke. He is an experienced naturalist who loves sharing the knowledge of our backyard wonder, Lake Michigan.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. Please meet at the stone bench outside the Visitor Center to begin the hike.
