Down in the Dirt: Soil Insects
Early Childhood, Families, Guided Hikes
Discover a whole new world through a magnifying glass as we get down in the soil to find the insects and their relatives crawling under our feet. In this child/adult pair program, join Children’s Event Lead and Environmental Educator Melanie Ziolecki as we investigate the soil in our forest for those critters that are small but mighty. We will then come inside to meet our resident insect ambassadors to help teach us why insects are so important to our earth. Each person will receive insect inspecting equipment to search for critters as well as an insect ID sheet and insect keychain craft to take home.
This program is designed for children aged 3 and older. Each child requires a ticket; children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can accompany more than one child. This program will take place both indoors and outdoors.
Members: $20 per adult/child pair | Non-members: $26 per adult/child pair
