Creatures of the Night Hike
Wisconsin is home to many nocturnal animals, from the Great Horned Owl patrolling the night skies, to the tiny deer mouse down below the leaves. Set out on a night hike to uncover them in their native environments! We will begin by strolling through our gateway trail to Mystery Lake, then we will call for owls in our South Ravine. As the sun begins to set and the moon rises, we will make our way up the observation tower to look for and learn about Wisconsin’s native bats!
Your guide for this evening will be Environmental Educator Laine Cotteleer, an experienced naturalist who is passionate about sharing her knowledge of Wisconsin’s native flora and fauna. She will meet you at the stone bench outside the Visitor Center to begin the hike.
This program is designed for all ages, children and adults alike. Children must be accompanied by an adult; each child and adult require a ticket. This program will take place completely outdoors. In case of inclement weather, a portion of the program will be moved indoors.
