Artist Demonstration with Mary Mendla

Mary Mendla, our current gallery artist, will present a demonstration of techniques incorporated in working with oil, cold wax, and mixed media.

Mary will talk about cold wax medium, a fascinating medium to work with. It offers many opportunities to increase depth and complexity in artworks through the many mixed media materials that can be used with it. It also increases the level of spontaneity in the painting process which allows for a more intuitive approach to painting with it.

Mary will bring examples of artworks of different levels of completion to demonstrate several techniques with the many mixed media products that she works with to ‘create magic’ in her art. After the demonstration, participants will visit the exhibit with the artist.
