Mark your calendars to celebrate the 15th anniversary of our wonderful Nature Preschool at Schlitz Audubon! Reconnect with old friends, tell us about your latest adventures, and see how the classrooms have – or haven’t – changed. Visit with our founding director, Patti Bailie, who will be joining us for the day. Don’t forget the explore the outdoor play spaces, which have a little more sunlight in the wake of Emerald Ash Borer.
While here, visit the Auditorium to take in our amazing Ash to Art exhibit. This is both an artistic showcase, silent auction, and educational event all in one. We will have a unique display of paintings, sculptures, furniture, and more, crafted by local artists and woodworkers (as well as by our current Preschool students) using fallen ash trees from the Schlitz Audubon property.
Learn about the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer and the Center’s plan to address it from our Director of Conservation, Marc White. Bid on amazing works of art, and while supplies last, make your own tree cookie necklace. See how we are turning the loss of our beloved ash trees into works of beauty, and take home your own piece of Schlitz Audubon!
