Lake Drive & Brown Deer Road Project

If you have visited the Center recently, you likely noticed that we are in the midst of restoring a piece of the land near the corner of Lake Drive and Brown Deer Road.

This plot of dead ash, buckthorn, and low-quality understory is being converted into a vibrant and diverse hardwood swamp that will provide habitat for a variety of plant, bird, and other animal species. Once the project is complete, we will have transformed one of the most degraded areas of the property into one of the most lively and beautiful.
