Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), commonly referred to as “Bird Flu”, has been reported at farms, captive wildlife centers, and in wild bird populations. Although poultry, waterfowl, and raptors are the most common cases, cattle, cats, and humans have also contracted the virus.
HPAI Symptoms in Wild Birds
- Respiratory distress – sneezing, coughing, trouble breathing

Deceased birds will often appear unharmed, with no signs of physical trauma.
