Many of Wisconsin’s woodpeckers do not migrate and instead spend their winter in Wisconsin. Join School Programs Manager and woodpecker aficionado AJ Grill on this interpretive hike to discover the unique adaptations that allow the woodpecker to survive Wisconsin winters. Schlitz Audubon is home to a variety of woodpecker species including the Downy, Red-bellied, Hairy, Red-headed and more. We will also consider the repercussions of the Emerald Ash Borer and its suspected effects on woodpecker abundance in our region. 

This program will take place entirely outdoors.
