Twilight Hike

As the sun goes down, experience the Center in a different light! Join us for a guided hike on our trails in search of crepuscular and nocturnal wildlife. While we visit different habitats, learn about our resident and migratory animals: how to identify them by sight, sound, or the signs they leave behind. We’ll also encounter the Center’s diverse plant life. This perspective on animal behavior and ecology will expand your understanding of local wildlife. 

On this night before the summer solstice, we will experience the latest sunset of the year! Insects emerge in large quantities, providing food to birds gathering before nightfall and bats just beginning to emerge. The ponds seem to burst with plant and animal life.  

Your guide for the evening is Naturalist Melanie Ziolecki who loves sharing her expertise about night animals. She will meet you at our stone bench to begin your adventure.
