In 1989 the Wisconsin Legislature created the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund to preserve valuable natural areas and wildlife habitat. Michael John, President on the Board of the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame, will describe the Fund’s history and how it works, including how it benefited bird conservation. The future of the Fund beyond June 2020, when it is currently set to expire, will be explored.
Michael John studied environmental studies and ornithology at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He recently served as Wisconsin Society for Ornithology’s President.
