Saturday, May 20, 2023 | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
$60.00 – $75.00This is a two-day workshop: Saturdays, May 20 & 27
Using nature as an inspiration, students will learn essential elements and basics of drawing. Class will cover use of materials, drawing from life, and linear perspective. Students work at their own pace and will learn how to draw what they perceive. Projects are designed to cover various aspects of rendering from rough concept to comprehensive drawing.
A materials list will be supplied, but students are encouraged to bring any supplies that they may already have.
This class takes place outdoors. In case of inclement weather, a portion of the class will be indoors.
Instructor José Acevedo believes drawing is the foundation for all other forms of art. He uses art to explore the natural world, with a particular interest in the birds, fish, and wildlife of the Midwest. Acevedo is also a self-taught wood carver and works with sustainable and found objects to highlight the wonders of the Great Lakes. His hand-painted wood carvings of native Wisconsin birds, fish, and wildlife are featured at local businesses, including Schlitz Audubon, Boerner Botanical Gardens, and Cappaert Contemporary Art Gallery in Door County.
Members: $60 | Non-members: $75
