Shinrin Yoku is a Japanese meditative form of nature therapy that has been scientifically shown to benefit mental and physical health. The term translates to “taking in the forest atmosphere.” Also known as “forest bathing,” Shinrin Yoku involves more than just hiking from point A to point B. Using a sensory approach, we will experience our forests and Wisconsin winters in a way we never have before. Learn about the practice of forest bathing through guided instructions. After a forest bathing session, we will conclude the program with a time of reflection, discussion, and tea sampling. Participants will take home skills to continue their own healing through nature, anywhere they go. Adequate winter clothing required.
