Guided Forest Bathing at Lake Michigan

Sunday, September 27, 2020 | 6:30 am - 8:30 am

$20 – $30
Adults, Guided Hikes

Shinrin Yoku is a Japanese meditative form of nature therapy that has been scientifically shown to benefit mental and physical health. The term translates to “taking in the forest atmosphere”. Also known as “forest bathing,” Shinrin Yoku involves more than just hiking from point A to point B. For this program, we will be practicing Shinrin Yoku with Lake Michigan as our guide. Using a sensory approach, we will experience the shoreline sunrise in a way we never have before. After a forest bathing session, we will conclude the program with a time of reflection and discussion. Participants will take home skills to continue their own healing through nature, anywhere they go.

If the beach is deemed hazardous, we will explore a different habitat for our forest bathing program.

This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus. See our latest COVID-19 updates here.

Members: $20 | Non-members: $30
