We will be hiking Seminary Woods, a famous historic woodland in St. Francis. It is one of the last surviving beech-maple forests in Wisconsin. The area brings a mix of great spring ephemerals, giant trees, and forest as well as field birds in an adjacent area. This woodland represents the last remnants of what used to be a major forest type along Milwaukee’s coast. Senior Ecologist Don Quintenz and Adult Program Coordinator Michelle Allison will guide you through an experience you won’t forget.
The field trip begins and ends at Seminary Woods. In order to maintain social distancing, you will need to provide your own transportation to and from Seminary Woods. There are no restroom facilities available. Further details and directions will be emailed to registered participants prior to the trip.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to, but because of the nature of small-group programming, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus.
