Poetry and Nature: A Haiku Hike
Thursday, August 5, 2021 | 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
$10.00 – $15.00What better way to experience the natural world than through art? For this program, we will be trading our paintbrushes for pencils, as we explore the art of nature poetry. Join us on this summer evening hike to all of Schlitz Audubon’s most scenic spots. We will discuss Haikus, a type of Japanese short form poetry, and use each of our senses to make observations during our hike. At the end, participants will have the opportunity to practice writing their own Haikus that were inspired by the various habitats and wildlife that we saw along the way.
While this program is best suited for adults and children aged 8 and older, younger participants are welcome to enjoy the hike as well!
This program will take place entirely outdoors. Please read our current mask policy before participation.
Members: $10 per person | Non-members: $15 per person
